Events

The below events are just some of the many you can expect to see at the Eugene Celebration. Some are produced and managed by DEMI, others are not, but all are bound to be full of festive fun!

Bed Races!

Saturday, August 27th, noon (following the Eugene Celebration Parade)
8th Avenue, between Olive and Willamette Streets

Hilarious action! Watch teams of co-workers and their decked-out beds race to the finish line for amusement and acclaim. Teams of four runners and one pajama-clad rider switch places - and pajamas - at the half-way point in this fast and fun contest. Teams adorn their beds or themselves in outlandish style as they vie for the Best Theme Award. The single-elimination format culminates in the award of the Eugene Celebration Bed Races Trophy.

Waiter Olympics!

Saturday, August 27th, following the Eugene Celebration Bed Races
8th Avenue and Olive Street

Cheer on waiters and waitresses from your favorite restaurants and bars as they showcase their skill and speed!  Teams of two compete for the Eugene Celebration Waiter Olympics Trophy and other prizes in this wacky relay. The comical contest challenges participants to mix drinks with accuracy, dodge swinging doors and negotiate a beer keg obstacle course while balancing a tray of drinks. The Waiter Olympics is a single elimination tournament. Local celebrities act as the customers - and judges. The Waiter Olympics promises entertaining fun and action. Proudly supported by Ninkasi Brewing, Cornucopia, Unique Eugene and the Boulevard Bar and Grill.  Stay to watch the Bed Races!
