Onstage & Backstage with Ballet Fantastique

Sustainable Causeway, located near 8th Avenue and Oak Street
The performance will feature season vignettes from the 2009-2010 season, and a free 20-minute mini-ballet class for youth. Based in Eugene, Ballet Fantastique's season preview will include company dancers joined by youth dancers from The Academy of Ballet Fantastique.

About Ballet Fantastique Co-directed by mother-daughter team Donna and Hannah Bontrager, the Eugene-based Ballet Fantastique dazzles audiences with vibrant classical purity, and intrigues through innovative collaborations with some of the most renowned artists in the Pacific Northwest, and enchants through delightful re-imaginings of all the ballet favorites.

Ballet Fantastique has been asked to collaborate with and to perform for audiences of the Eugene Symphony (Carnival of the Animals, Silva Concert Hall), the Trio Voronezh (Tchaikovsky to Tango and Danse en Rouge, Soreng Theater), and the Oregon Mozart Players (A Novel Experience, Wildish Theater), and at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland (Don Quixote, Ashland OR), and has performed as featured artists at the Umpqua Dance Festival and Ballet in the Park, the University of Oregon Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and the international Slavic Festival (Star-Filled Russian Nights, Silva Concert Hall). |
